All we can hope for is a repeat of 2006; down 2-0 to Montreal and won 4 straight on the way to an eventual cup win. Unlikely to happen though. The injury bug with Pesce and Fast, the inconsistency of special teams with being one of the top PP and PK teams in the league during the regular season and then just falling apart in the playoffs is a killer. Igor is getting WAY to many easy shots that are keeping him hot and his head in the game. Hopefully our stars can stop trying to force a win, play disciplined hockey (SVECHNIKOV) and play the game has done so well for them over the regular season. If not, well the golf scene in Raleigh ain't too bad.

You're going to say that that penalty was kind of weak to be called in overtime? 😂😂😂 Starting from the Capitol series to this series they've been trying to hurt the Ranger players and the rest of just sitting there like umm yeah we're not going to call that. 😂😂😂 That hurts as a Rangers fan that you feel that penalty on Vinny getting cross checked was weak. 😢😂😂😂

Ok but can we talk about how absolutely horrible the refs were in game 2. So many blatant penalties against Carolina and they were the ones getting called for stuff.

My two cents as a person who has no dog in this fight (I'm neutral/friendly with regard to both teams): The Rangers giving up penalties like that will bite them in the ass if they keep it up. Carolina will figure out how to get the PPGs. Carolina: same advice, except that the Rangers already have your number. Get more disciplined. I called Rangers/Carolina with the Rangers in 7 way back at the beginning in my bracket. I still stand by that. Minor tweaks to that last game, and Rangers lose in reg 4-2. Carolina gets home ice next, and I think we'll see. MSG is a notoriously difficult place to get an away win in and both games were hard fought by both sides. I think this series and the Canucks/Oilers series will be the most exciting hockey this round.

Refs have been calling those soft push / cross checks all playoffs and in critical times. Against canes in 2OT, against Van in 3rd of gm 6, and at least a couple more come to mind. Let em play

The Officiating was bad. On both sides. Missed calls and obvious ones at that on both sides. However: this was the most exciting hockey game since the most recent regular season match between these very same teams. It was a clash of polar opposites. pure chaos versus absolute structure. It was close, entertaining, exciting and great hockey all around. Several points where i thought my rangers blew it and several points i thought the canes blew it. It was great, i want more of it. just better officiating.

Disney has done you a disservice. There are TWO train of thoughts: 1 yes, more rest is better. But 2 no, Boston was game/off/game/off rhythm, whereas Florida had a rust factor, something their own coach admitted to pre - and during game interviews. Always been 2 sides to the 'rest during playoffs' coin.

Keep salary cap during the playoffs, and make ir players still effect salary. Maybe increase the cap a little if possible, to help w injuries and whatnot

But what sadly comes to mind is my years of playing street hockey for fun! After 82 games per season, Millions of dollars in costs, salaries, maintenance, travel charges, food costs, equipment replacement. 2023-2024 season came down to a line I have use many many a time playing street hockey for fun. NEXT GOAL WINS. Good thing playing is still fun, but than as a fan we aren't playing are we, nor are we getting paid. We are just the poor saps that are paying to watch these "Gold Diggers" bankrupt us while we wait for some miracle to happen.345

It’s a call..defend on the PK and this isn’t a story the Rangers have been the better team so far between two evenly matched sides. The second round has great matchups…the NHL has achieved parity..

Have to disagree, not a weak penalty. The initial crosscheck is not much but Skjei then follows through and takes out Trochecks skate. Have to call it there or else unfair odd man rush to Carolina in 2OT

How is that not a legit penalty to call in 2OT? The main reason you call that is because Skeij taking him out would have led to a breakaway the other way. Also, can we stop acting like we should call things during some times of the game and not during others? It’s so lame.

It's interesting Sidney Crosby would pick a fight with the current playoff format considering he benefited the most from it - Two cup wins against one from the previous format. Hmmm... I wonder what he would have said if questioned about this while holding the cup during those two wins. I'm not sure if many of you remember but when Bettman changed to the conference format, most people hated him for it and heavily criticized him for trying to make the NHL like the NBA. Most people complained for over a decade to put it back to the division format.
